Peninsula Swimwear is the new line of Italian men’s swimming suit, that combines an inborn passion for creativity, tradition, elegance and exotic appeal entirely designed by two young Italian entrepreneurs, inspired by the classic style of the 60s / 70s and the famous “Dolce Vita”.The collection has been entirely envisioned and developed by the co-founders Edoardo Pasolini dall’Onda and Federico Naccarato Sartori. Both the two Italian entrepreneurs grew up in a nurturing creative environment amongst artists, writers, painters, style icons and photographers which formed their taste and appeal to timeless elegance.
Pasolini and Naccarato were together recently dominated by the idea of establishing a brand that would bring up the timeless elegance and style that characterized their childhood. They had in mind something that could bring back the scent of the Italian 60s and 70s, a real “Dolce Vita” style, the colours and tastes of the most beautiful Italian landscapes and beaches, and those characters that were part of the life of their relatives– every feature of, the lifestyle of the most fascinating and inspirational Italian characters like Visconti, Agnelli and Gasmann. It is precisely for this reason that the two founders chose the iconic Italian photographer Giovanni Gastel to oversee and shoot Peninsula’s first campaign selecting Tazio Puri Negri and Marcantonio Brandolini d’Adda as brand ambassadors, combining Gastel’s timeless elegance with the contemporary style of the two young Italian trendsetters.
The brand considers as core values the scrupulous attention to detail through the rigorous supervision of each stage of the production and the top quality of its natural fabrics. The usage of natural and ecologic fabrics is also significant for the social responsibility the brand is involved in, by also producing in eco-friendly environments.
The word Peninsula and the flying fish elegantly evokes the classic beauty of Italy and the brand name is a Latin word that is still currently in use in a number of countries and refers to its peculiar shape, the famous “boot”. Similarly, the logo of the flying fish was chosen because of the beauty of its skin and gentleness of its movements.
Naccarato states: “Peninsula just sounded as the perfect way to express our taste for classic and sought-after elegance in a subtle but internationally comprehensive manner. This Latin word has the scent of something timeless, though still with a contemporary meaning.”
